The purpose of the Dumps and Landfills Action Group is to promote the remediation of contaminated sites in a manner that is consistent with the goals of the Maumee RAP.

This group is currently in hiatus pending reevaluation of its focus.  If you have any comments or suggestions as to the future of this group, please contact Sue Horvath. (see below)

• Future Plans:  

  • Develop new projects to improve the Maumee AOC

• Past Accomplishments: 

  • Summarized the public and Private remediation conducted at contaminated sites for the Activities and Accomplishments in the Maumee AOC (1991-2001)  (2001-2002)

  • Commented on numerous US EPA and Ohio EPA closure plans,  preferred plans, monitoring plans, etc. (1991-2000)

  • Instrumental in the formation of the Duck and Otter Creeks Partnership (1998-present)

  • Conducted the Ottawa River Remediation Bus Tour (1998)

  • Conducted Walking Tour of Dumpsites on the Ottawa River (1996)

  • Coordinated the first Profiling the Ottawa River (1994)
