The purpose of the Open Spaces and Wetlands Action Group is to promote the preservation, restoration, enhancement, and protection of open spaces and wetlands in the Maumee Area of Concern.

  • Future Plans:  

    • Development of new projects/grants related to this issue

  • Past Accomplishments: 

    • Distributed 6125 trees from NIFTI to area groups at Earth Day events (1997 to 2001)

    • Installed a Streambank Stabilization Project as a part of the Toussaint River Improvement Incentive Project (1997)

    • Conducted tree plantings in several locations throughout the Maumee AOC (1996-1997)

    • Installed a Streambank Stabilization Project at the Swan Creek Metropark (1995-1996)
